The UNIS Moodle is no longer an experiment! It has become and important tool for ICT integration in the different subjec areas. I have dropped the "Beta" from the name. I have also given the computer specialists the power to create, edit, and maintain courses for the subject area teachers.
Previously:
The UNIS Moodle is an experiment, a place for UNIS students and teachers to freely try out different ways of communicating, learning, and teaching.
I started the UNIS Moodle in December of 2005. It was meant as an experiment, a place for UNIS students and teachers to freely try out different ways of communicating, learning, and teaching.
With the use of an old, decommissioned server, some nights and weekends, and the fabulous open source software of the same name, the UNIS Moodle came about. The only limitation put on the system was the need for a UNISnet login: Only UNIS students and teachers can have access to this web environment.
As expected, some teachers and departments adapted the new tools quickly: Science, Computer Science, and Humanities. Some unexpected courses proved to have a need for a collaborative web environment as well: Music, Physical Education, and Library.
According to the statistics of the site, more than 900 students and more than 70 teachers have visited the UNIS Moodle.
I have now moved the UNIS Moodle to a newer server and it has been updated to the latest version of the Moodle software, 1.8. Let the experiment continue.....
Latest version: 1.9.2
